Why bisque

Studio photo — placeholder

In ceramics, bisque is the halfway point. The clay has been fired once, so it holds its shape, but it has never been glazed. It stays porous. Drop scented oil on it and it drinks it in, then gives it back to the room for days.

We liked that idea for a place. Something solid enough to come back to, but open enough to take on whoever walks in. The scents are blended by hand in the studio upstairs. The café downstairs runs on slow coffee and Northern Thai produce. The long table in the back hosts workshops most weekends.

Everything is made in Chiang Mai, with local makers, in small batches.
